Overview

TsingSens AmazingHand 3D Printed Open-Source Robotic Hand Kit is a desktop-scale robotic hand based on the open-source Amazing Hand project from Pollen Robotics and released on GitHub. The kit combines a 3D-printed PLA skeleton with soft TPU skin, linkage-driven fingers and dual-motor parallel mechanisms to reproduce realistic flexion, extension, abduction and adduction of the fingers.

Designed for makers, educators and researchers, this open-source robotic hand kit is easy to program with Python on a PC or via Arduino/ESP32, making it ideal for AI experiments, gesture demos and low-load grasping tasks.

Key Features

  • Fully Open-Source Design
Mechanical CAD, electronics and control code are available on GitHub, allowing you to study, modify and extend the robotic hand for your own projects.

  • 3D-Printed, Modular Construction
PLA bone structure with TPU skin for a balance of stiffness and compliance; components are easy to re-print and replace.

  • Realistic Finger Mechanics
Linkage-driven joints with a parallel mechanism and dual motors (Motor A & Motor B) deliver natural finger flexion/extension and finger spread (abduction/adduction), closely mimicking a human hand.

  • Easy Control with Python or Arduino
Connect the control cable directly to a computer and drive the hand using Python through a serial (TTL) interface.
Alternatively, program an Arduino and copy the code to the onboard ESP32 microcontroller; supports both TTL serial control and PWM servo-style control (PWM mode for standard servos via Arduino + MCU).

  • USB Power Input
Powered via a 5V/3A USB power adapter (charger not included), making it convenient to use on the desktop or in the lab.

  • Ready-to-Use or DIY Kit
Assembled version: arrives pre-built and ready to run out of the box.
Kit version: requires self-assembly, perfect for teaching robotics, mechanisms and hands-on STEM learning. All versions include accessories, motors and microcontroller.

Specifications (Typical)

  • Weight of hand: approx. 600680 g

  • Recommended payload: approx. 200300 g (heavier loads require custom design/consultation)

  • Overall size:

    • Width 10 cm / 105 mm

    • Height 195 mm

    • Depth (palm + base) 120 mm, overall length with base 2526 cm

  • Materials: PLA (bone structure), TPU (outer soft parts)

  • Drive type: linkage-driven mechanism with dual motors per finger group

  • Power input: 5V 3A USB (charger not included)

  • Interfaces: TTL serial; PWM servo (via Arduino + MCU)

Typical Applications

  • Gesture and motion demonstrations for classrooms, exhibitions and science museums

  • Low-load motion execution and grasping experiments in AI, machine learning and humanrobot interaction research

  • Integration with desktop robotic arms (mounting drawings can be provided; robotic arm is not included)

  • Custom high-precision or special-purpose grippers (available via bespoke development and quotation)

Whether you are a hobbyist, educator, or robotics researcher, TsingSens AmazingHand 3D Printed The Open-Source Robotic Hand Kit offers an accessible, hackable platform to explore advanced robotic hand control, kinematics and AI-driven manipulation.
