The Unimog 404 is a small off-road truck ideal for traversing a wide variety of terrain. They found common use in the German military due to their practicality and suitability for different roles. It is one of the most recognisable vehicles of the Bundeswehr (German armed forces). In addition to the standard truck versions of the Unimog S a body-van (Koffer) variant was quite common. Some 16000 vehicles were fitted with these body variants and they had the longest service life among the Unimog S series trucks.
